If you read all reviews you will see complaints sprinkled throughout about the Fire Station across the street. Yes, there was one. I felt safe with it there and even with two small children who were POOPED after touring the city and passed out each night, they never flinched with the sirens. Neither did we. Overall excellent hotel, great amenities, awesome service. Modern and upscale and very nice friendly people. We'll go again! No doubt! The Fire Station is NOT that bad believe it or not. AND we were right across the street from it on the front side...

Pros: Customer Service
Cons: Not much; very nice hotel for the $$

The Hyatt personel was extremely pleasant and friendly. The only thing was that they forgot to let us know we had complimentary continental breakfast, but after we brought this to their attention they credit our account for the charge. When someone books a hotel they should actually be able to stay at that hotel, not be moved across the street. In the least somebody, Online travel website of the hotel should have alerted me about the problem so I could have stayed in my spare room, it would have been the same basically. All of this made for disapointing first honeymoon. If I hadn't booked two more rooms through Online travel website already, I would probably look for other options for travel plans.

In none of the prior reviews, did I read of the firehouse across the street! Firetrucks blared all night. Also, the restaurant was overpriced and service was horrible. In addition, the carpet in our room had a large green stain right in the doorway. The "heated" pool was cold. Overall, this hotel is located in a great spot for seeing DC. Yet, although I plan to visit DC again, I will make other arrangements.

I just came back from a Memorial Day weekend stay. I stayed at this wonderful hotel for 5 nights. It was wonderful. Everyone was friendly. The location was perfect for walking everywhere (be prepared for a good workout especially to Capitol Hill). Went down to DC to see our daughter over Easter. Our stay at the Hyatt was excellent. Rooms were spacious and clean, coffeemaker in the room. Low rate. Location is ideal for sightseeing. Short walk from Union Station, so you can fly in and hop on the metro, and get off with a 2-5 minute walk to the hotel. In addition when we were there they had an alternative lifestyle conference, which made the people watching especially interesting!

I have stayed at hotel in the past and was impressed enough to want to stay there again. The location is ideal and the temerpedic matresses are divine! I did have to ask three times for a roll-away bed and finally recieved it well after 10pm. There was also some convention happening at the time that we were there, the risque attire of the participants exposed my child to things that I did not appreciate.

Pros: Beds!
Cons: Timely Service

2 blocks to Union Station (metro). Clean room, great beds, tub, great service and pool is free if you fill out a form (ask at main desk). Free full breakfast buffet included I didn't know about when booking. I will definitely return. Yes, a bit of construction, but where doesn't that occur. Homeless shelter in back, so we used front entrance! I travelled w/my 9 year old daughter and we had a wonderful time.

Pros: Don
Cons: Having a room to stay in.
