I was in San Francisco to attend a conference and did not want to pay the high prices of the big hotels. Chancellor was perfect. Very clean, small room, great restaurant, fabulous location and a very resonable rate!

This hotel was in the perfect location to get around SF. It had wireless internet in the room, which a lot of the hotel didn't. Only bad thing is that it didn't have air conditioning (which normally isn't an issue) but we were there when SF had abnormally warm weather.

Pros: Location
Cons: Air conditioning

Location can't be beat! Right in front of cable car line and a few blocks from Chinatown/Union Square/BART. Staff was excellent! Rooms are small but cozy/convenient for the price. Beds could use improvement, but were comfortable nonetheless. Didn't eat at the hotel's restaurant, but went next door to Sears Fine Food - delicious! There are other great spots to eat around town too. Don't rent a car in SF. Take advantage of the cable car passes depending on your stay. We loved it here!

Pros: Location
Cons: Mattresses, maybe?

Morning front desk staff has major attitude problems. We had to complain several times to get things right. Hotel requires a credit card at check-in. If you don't have one you are screwed. They couldn't even take one (my mom's) over the phone. They claimed this was impossible. What are they living in the 1920's?!!! The front desk claimed that he could not take the credit card without a signature. How do people buy things over the internet?!!!
