This hotel is the best, Stayed here overnight with our children and even they recognized how great this place is! The door man new all of our names and the staff was the most polite and helpful staff ever. The room was huge and had a fully loaded kitchen. My wife and daughters loved the Aveda Bath products! We had our choice of pillows and our children loved the free Iced Tea and Fruit in the lobby. We would reccomend this hotel to anyone. Barking Dog cafe was a monster hit for breakfast - large portions great price (Except the $* bowl of Fruit Loops my daughter order but this is NYC).

Great surprise on this hotel. Room was very spacious by NYC standards, modern, quiet, with very helpful staff. Very convenient location, a couple of blocks from the Empire State Building, not far from 7th Avenue shopping. The only downfall (there has to be one, right?) was the continuing running toilet. We had to keep the bathroom door closed, especially at night or we'd all have been insane from the annoying sound. Even when maintenance came to fix it (not), then it didn't flush at all. From reading other reviews, others must have had the same room, or just the same cheap brand of toilet.

Myself (mom) and two teenagers stayed at the Affinia Dumont. The rooms were large and contained everything we expected and more. There was a coffee maker, a blow dryer, even a CD player. We were upgraded from a studio to a one bedroom upon check-in, the rooms were clean and spacious, the staff was friendly and helpful, and the area was clean and safe. We were on the 30th floor and had a picture postcard view of the Empire State building (two blocks away), it was awesome.

We were upgraded from a studio to a one bedroom upon check-in, the rooms were clean and spacious, the staff was friendly and helpful, and the area was clean and safe. We were on the 30th floor and had a picture postcard view of the Empire State building (two blocks away), it was awesome. The rooms were clean and very roomy (by NYC standards at least, I would think). The location near 34th and 3rd was a central midtown location for walking daytrips and with access to many restaurants right around the corner on 3rd. Not sure what the hotel price alone was as part of our overall package, but it had to be a good value. Fabulous hotel! Bedding was super comfy! The hotel staff was excellent - super friendly and helpful on suggesting dining options and giving directions. I was so impressed that I left the staff a little gift on the day of our departure. Having the kitchen was helpful and saved us money - there is a little market next to the hotel to purchase breakfast foods. The subway was only 1block west (6) running north and south, and the bus stop in front of the hotel runs east and west, so it was very simple to get around if you learn the system.

Pros: Comfy Bedding

The rooms were clean and very roomy (by NYC standards at least, I would think). The location near 34th and 3rd was a central midtown location for walking daytrips and with access to many restaurants right around the corner on 3rd. Not sure what the hotel price alone was as part of our overall package, but it had to be a good value. Our stay was over St. Patrick's Day weekend, so the city and our hotel was pretty booked up, making it an even better deal.

I spent a long time researching hotel options, and kept finding rave reviews of all the Affinia properties. It did not disappoint. The room was huge, extremely well-appointed, in a fantastic location, and we had a stellar view. I would have expected to pay two to three times more for the room even at a discount. I will try to stay with Affinia on a return trip without a doubt! The ONLY down side was that the maids in the morning were really loud; the halls are small and the noise was annoying.

Having the kitchen was helpful and saved us money - there is a little market next to the hotel to purchase breakfast foods. But who needs to sleep in when you are visiting NYC?

The rooms were clean and very roomy (by NYC standards at least, I would think). The location near 34th and 3rd was a central midtown location for walking daytrips and with access to many restaurants right around the corner on 3rd. Not sure what the hotel price alone was as part of our overall package, but it had to be a good value. But who needs to sleep in when you are visiting NYC?

Great access to shopping, amazing and spacious rooms, and the exercise facility/spa is top flight. We got solid and unbiased recommendations for dining from the staff, and received terrific and timely service overall. Definitely recommend this for a short or especially extended stay (the mini-kitchen was nicer than my first apartment's, including a gas stove!)

The bed matress conforms to your body. The pets can roam free (which our rabbits appreciated). Rooms have modern decor and appliances--and are super clean. Perfect NYC location. A 24-hour deli in the same block. My husband and I will always stay there when we're in NYC.

Pros: pet-friendliness
Cons: nothing

Very frinedly and dog friendly. Nice large and well appointed rooms. Were 3 of us for a "girl's" trip and plenty of room.

Pros: large rooms

The hotel room was very spacious. The location was central to many activities we had planned for the weekend. The hotel staff was very nice and accomodating. Overall I'd highly recommend the place.

Pros: The spacious rooms

I spent a long time researching hotel options, and kept finding rave reviews of all the Affinia properties. It did not disappoint. The room was huge, extremely well-appointed, in a fantastic location, and we had a stellar view. I would have expected to pay two to three times more for the room even at a discount. I will try to stay with Affinia on a return trip without a doubt! The ONLY down side was that the maids in the morning were really loud; the halls are small and the noise was annoying. But who needs to sleep in when you are visiting NYC?

Pros: Room size
Cons: Noisy hallways
