We had a wonderful stay the the Maui Prince. My only gripe is with security. Someone was smoking on our floor, 3 letters and having our door pounded on more than once demanding to know if we were smoking, I was more than a little annoyed. We don't smoke.

We loved our visit at the Maui Prince Resort. The Prince Court had excellent food and tropical drinks. The Molokini Lounge has good light dining. The breakfast buffet was a bit pricey but the quality was much better than in town. Prices at the hotel are similar to San Francisco where we live, but may be $$$ for the average traveler. The resort was so wonderful we did not want to leave. The beach is right down the path from the hotel. Fresh beach towels and chairs are available around the pools and the beach. Staff is very friendly.

Great Romance Package! The Maui Prince greeted us w/a refreshing cool towel. King room ample size w/a lanai, beautiful view of golf course and ocean. Steps from the ocean . Many activities on site. $* dinner voucher was used at the Hakone restaurant--mmm. The buffet breakfast was outstanding....we didn't need lunch. Staff was friendly, helpful, efficient. Service at the restaurants was prompt. Our room was always sparkling. It wasn't crowded but parking was a little tight. The perfect place if you like great service, fabulous amenities, lots of activities away from the hustle and bustle.

Not only is it located on the most picturesque part of the island (Makena), the Maui Prince eases your soul the moment you pull up to the valet. Yes, the rooms are a bit "Miami Vice", but the affable staff, exquisite Japanese cuisine at Hakone and stiff drinks far outweigh the decor. Plus, no mega-resorts blocking your view of Molokini, Lanai and North Maui. I will be back!

My wife and I celebrated our 25th anniversary here. We had never been to Hawaii before, but the Prince was a jewel. Great staff, open and uncrowded atmosphere, terrific breakfast buffet, spotless beach with some of the best snorkeling in all of Maui. We had a great time and hated to leave. The only downside was the carpet in our room had its share of beach dirt in it and the decor is pretty dated. We just kept telling ourselves "We're finally in Hawaii!" We're already planning a return visit that can't happen fast enough.

The hotel rooms do need a bit of an update, but overall this is a very good hotel. The secluded location, great beach, unobstructed view of Molokini Crater and access to watersports (scuba, snorkeling, etc.) make this a great choice.

Pros: Calm and uncrowded
Cons: Furnishings dated

The hotel rooms do need a bit of an update, but overall this is a very good hotel. The secluded location, great beach, unobstructed view of Molokini Crater and access to watersports (scuba, snorkeling, etc.) make this a great choice. Unlike some other opinions, we thought the geckos were rather cute and never had a problem with them coming into the room...

Maui Prince is at the Southern end of all the resorts in Makena. Room decor is a little dated but rooms are clean, large with ocean view terraces. Neutrogena bath products! Food is above-average for a resort. Pool is beautiful and beach is lovely. Also near Big Beach. Knowledgeable concierge and free parking!

We've stayed all over the Hawaiian Islands and found the Prince to be an excellent value with nice rooms, good food, great service and friendly staff. It has a fantastic beach with lots of activities and easy access to typical Hawaiian attractions. The main pool could be somewhat bigger but this resort is still well worth a return visit again.
