I did not have high expectations, but even if I had, this hotel would have met or beat them. It would not be a good place for a person of unusually large stature, because the bathrooms (though clean) are incredibly small. All else was wonderful and I will definitely stay there again. This hotel was wonderfully located in midtown. The staff were sensational. The rooms large and comfortable. Our room had a particularly small bathroom with only a shower, but that is not the same in every room. The room was so large there was room for a small sofa, but it only had two desk chairs - comfortable, but not really meant for relaxing in. The kitchen, even in the studio, is large and well appointed - a very nice touch. The place is very, very clean. The price, totally reasonable for the location and quality.

Pros: staff

I want to say what a great pleasure it was to stay at this hotel. The hotel was welcoming and useful to me as a place of rest and relaxation. I want to thank the staff who were friendly and able to help me with everything I needed. I think everyone from the maids to the front desk staff were wonderful people both as employees and as hosts to the city of NY.

We carefully booked with a hotel that had two full beds as there were four of us. The room only had one double bed. The hotel insisted that Travelocity booked for one bed, and there was nothing they could do about it, even though my receipt showed two full beds. Noone answered the Travelocity phone number. The next day they moved to a new room, still a bed short. They kept repeating since we had booked with online travel website, there was nothing they could do about discounting the room or fixing the mistake.

Pros: staff
Cons: A small sofa in the room would be nice.

This is a grand old hotel that is great for families! We travel to NY often and have two young children. The room in the Affinia was huge for NY! It also had a small kitchen which was a nice perk. The location is wonderful, with the metro right across the street. We were on the fourth floor and I might suggest trying an upper floor just to get away from street noise, but it was not too bad. I booked a stay at the Affinia based on the Travelocity reviews. Was not disappointed. Rooms are huge and well appointed. Service was excellent. Bar next door-Niles-was a great place to end the evening. Will definitely stay again when I return in May. Location-fab. Walked everywhere. Great sports bar around the corner for those avid sports fan. Check out the exhibits at the FIT museum down the street. Away from the hustle and bustle of Times Square and the expense of uptown.

Pros: Size of the room
Cons: they charge for internet access in the biz center

The first thing I looked for when booking a hotel was the reviews that were given and this was the main reason why I opted to stay at Affinia. I had a wonderful experience at the hotel. The rooms are spacious and the location was so perfect! I highly, HIGHLY recommend this hotel. It's very decent and the price is affordable. My next trip to NYC, I will most definitely book my stay here!

The location is excellent, but the studio we stayed in faced 7th avenue which meant traffic disturbance. The hotel was nice about us changing rooms, though. The studio is very big for a NYC hotel room. The kitchen is an added bonus. Bathrooms are small, but clean. We would definitely stay here again.

Pros: big rooms, comfortable beds
Cons: noise reduction

Hotel was clean, rooms were HUGE & comfy, service was great, enjoyed having a refrigerator & microwave. There are hairdryers beneath the bathroom sink. My only criticism -- no one checked our ID as we returned late at night.

The Affinia was very comfortable and the studio was nice. It had a fridge and stove so you could do some light cooking. The bathroom had very little shelf space, which was the only drawback. The location could not be better, just a quick walk to Times Square and Chelsea. Overall, a great place to stay in midtown.

Despite being trapped in NYC during one of its greatest rain deluges ever, the hotel provided a safe and welcome haven. The accommodations, especially the very comfortable beds, were great. Also the gourmet deli, just two doors from the main entrance, provided great food at a reasonable price as well as a place to stock our hotel kitchen.

The staff is very helpful and attentive. The pillow menu is a super idea!

The size of the room and the features were well worth the price. The concierge service is one to watch out for beause of the hard sell on package deals to tour the city. You really do not need it.

Having a son in NYC means several trips per year. We stay at different hotels each time. No more. The Affinia Manhattan is the best value we have found in NYC. Clean, large rooms, full kitchen and great location
