They blamed this on more people being in town than usual and said booking through a third party meant nothing was guaranteed even though I held a confirmed reservation. They gave us a one-bed tiny room, stuffed in a rollaway, and continued making excuses for why we didn't get the room we had confirmed. They only comped us breakfast after our insistence that we were owed something. For a highly rated hotel, I was extremely disappointed in the staff and their dismissal of us. I'd never stay there again, nor recommend it.

I stayed in the Smoked In room that night and moved to another room the next day. They did give me a bottle of champagne and moved my luggage. The staff seemed to be overworked and it showed in the way they treated some of the guests and how they spoke on the phone. Overall, it was not a pleasant experience.

Staff was very pleasant and helpful. Walking distance to Fisherman's Wharf. Parking at the hotel was 38.00. Would definitely stay again.

I feel like one of the family by now, am recognized and called by name, and am always warmly welcomed. The rooms around all four sides of the gorgeous atrium are way beyond praise, beauty and quiet! I'll forever be going back.
