Besides the terrible smell coming up from the stairs next to the restaurant all three days that we were there, the personel appeared to hate their jobs and seemed miserable to be there. From the front desk to the restaurant bar.

Pros: cookies
Cons: personel, smell

The hotel was very convenient to the airport and Old Town San Diego was close by for authentic Mexican cuisine. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

This place is clean, efficient, roomy, and great location. Wireless internet free (in lobby, meeting rooms) ... staff are friendly and helpful ... breakfast buffet is great for the price. The only minor issues is parking (very tight) ... and kinda pricey @ $12/day. But, if that's the only negative, everything else is definitely a plus and I'd stay here again!

Pros: Location, cleanliness
Cons: parking

For a family of 6 it was perfect. The beds were soft, cookies yummy, the double room layout allowed the kids to watch a early morning movie from their sofa bed while mom & dad slept in. One of the two TV's didn't work, an electrician worked on it for nearly an hour but to no avail. Baby crib was provided, refrigerator, microwave & VCR in the room. We brought our own donuts and milk for breakfast. Would definitely choose a Doubletree again. Didn't use the restaurant, pool or spa facilities. Staff credited our pay per view movie because of the broken TV.

Pros: Room layout/beds
Cons: Broken TV, $12 parking

When we first checked into this hotel we were hit with 10.00 a day parking. There is no mention of this in the travelocity website. When we told them this, they said it should be. The heating and cooling in the room was also a problem. Beside that the hotel was clean, and the staff helpful.

Location great! Rooms were clean and comfy. That's it, nothing else good to say. $10 parking for all and though I had my parking tag visible each night many did not....hmmmmmm. What?s the deal with no lounge after 11pm? Not much food to choose from either and over priced to boot. Would not stay again. Too many around with much more to offer.

I liked the hotel, but the upgrade to the "suite" was not worth the money. It was obviously an afterthought. The suite was no bigger than a regular room, and it had a dividing wall. We also had a problem with the HVAC in one room, but the staff stepped up and did everything they could to make us comfortable until they could move us to a new room.

The beds are very comfortable and the room was clean. Bathrooms need updating and we had to put a shoe at the bathroom door to prop it open. Restaurant is truly overpriced. $6.00 for 2 cups of coffee, $13.68 for a horrible small pizza (menu stated $11.00 but then they add a 15% gratuity). Breakfast buffet was horrible and it costs $11.00 per person. Also, $10.00 per day to park. What a ripoff. I would not stay again.
