We very much enjoyed our stay at the Farm. The room was comfortable and welcoming. The employees were attentive. Hospitality was 5 stars. The gardens were beautiful. San Luis Obispo is a charming little town.

Pros: Homey environment
Cons: Late check-in

The hotel and grounds are nice. One night stay is expensive for small room, had to ask for soap from the office. You receive a breakfast coupon for $5. Their breakfast menu is expensive for 2 people $5 is barely a token effort.

Pros: grounds
Cons: room preparation

We waited for years to visit this facility. Heard raves about it year after year. Staff is very nice and accommodating. We arrived very late (1 am) had no problem checking in. Our room was in the travel court, facing the freeway and was very noisy. The shower was disgusting. The glass at the bottom of the shower, had a huge scale buildup and you could see under the caulking where mold was trying to penetrate. Although we had a "deal" for the room, we could have stayed across the street for the same amount and had a cleaner room & breakfast!

Pros: Landscape
Cons: Rooms

booked 3 rooms for 3 nights; waited until 5:30p to get the rooms. Arrogant staff; room keys did not work; noisy rooms (staff); noisy first floor rooms; poor service at the restaurant; no room service!! no bar. restaurant closed most of the time. Certainly not a 4 or even 3 stars experience.

Pros: location
Cons: everything!

This was a return visit, with 2 rooms booked. Because the Inn was quite full with holiday travelers, one of the rooms we had booked (a very economically priced standard) was upgraded without extra charge to us.Staff is very friendly. They may have been a little understaffed during the holiday:a lot of guests had to wait for their rooms to be ready for check-in.

Pros: well maintained,charmingly decorated
Cons: more staff during peak season, possibly
