Booked a double bed, but was told that they did not guarantee rooms and only had a single bed and could have a cot for $25, so we asked to not be charged and were told no. Then we asked to cancel our reservations and were informed they would charge us for one night, so we checked in for that night. Called travel agency and we were then given a double room. Stayed there because of the numerous bars and restaurants, but most are only open during the weekends. Bright side, staff was great, and hotel is convenient to all attractions.

Hotel sucked, like old Radisson. Rooms small, dark, dingy; only two drawers for clothes. Refrigerator fined $25 for personal items. Bathroom too small, for toiletries. Coffee one cup Motel 6; Safe too small for laptop, must check computer at bell. Room service terrible, $14/day for broadband. $15 for 2 plain eggs in restaurant, $14/mixed drink at bar. Airport Express parks across street, not front of hotel. You carry luggage across a highway, up escalator, Check-in on 2nd floor. Hyatt Chicago Wacker is awful. Extremely expensive.

The rooms were newly refurbished and the beds and pillows very comfortable. We got a great room on the 32nd floor with terrific views of Downtown. Our adjoining room (a suite) had an all night party the 2nd to last night of our stay which kept us up all night long. However, the next morning we complained to the Assistant Manager on duty and we were given a $ 100 comp on our room.

The major issues that we had were with the room itself- quite a hike across the skyway to get to the West Tower and then when we arrived at the room- the carpet was worn and thin, wallpaper peeling in one corner near the ceiling. The bathroom had very little counterspace to put toiletries. We also experienced an odd noise periodically coming from the heating system. Overall, we weren't thrilled with our stay.

The hotel seemed lovely when we first entered the main lobby/ check-in area. Issues: no variety of restuarants and the ones there aren't that great, room service is over-priced/unavailable after a certain time, and if you need to eat late or just want some snacks, have to walk to the Walgreen's around the corner. I have stayed @ this hotel every year for the past 4 years. I love the location (a block or 2 from the Mile), the bar and the breakfast! Issues: no variety of restuarants and the ones there aren't that great, room service is over-priced/unavailable after a certain time, and if you need to eat late or just want some snacks, have to walk to the Walgreen's around the corner. Valet takes FOREVER. Location makes up for its shortcomings since you're so close to everything, always easy to get a cab.

I stayed at the Hyatt for a week during a conference. The rooms were very nice, with some real thought going into their decoration. The location was good and the staff was outstanding. The only thing that it could have used was a swimming pool. There was not much in terms of activities to make this a family hotel, but clearly it is aimed at business travelers. I would have, however, enjoyed a relaxing swim after a long day of conferencing. Some internet deals make it a value option during offpeak seasons, and during these promotions it's a complete steal.

Upgraded room was not much better than the original room so it wasn't really worth the extra money. Staff was really helpful especially the concierge staff. Would recommend this hotel for the price we got through online travel website.

First time traveler to Chicago and my buddy and I chose the Hyatt for its central location. The hotel was very clean and the staff very helpful and courteous.

The hotel seemed lovely when we first entered the main lobby/ check-in area. We were happy to be close to downtown, but would look elsewhere for our next visit.

Don't understand why there's an escalator leading to the lobby to check in. Seems very dangerous. Anyway...the last night there I lost my balance and tumbled down the escalator, hitting my head very hard. No one in the lobby came to my rescue. I went to bed in very bad pain. They should only have elevators.

First time traveler to Chicago and my buddy and I chose the Hyatt for its central location. The hotel was very clean and the staff very helpful and courteous.

Pros: central location

The hotel seemed lovely when we first entered the main lobby/ check-in area. We were happy to be close to downtown, but would look elsewhere for our next visit.

We were happy to be close to downtown, but would look elsewhere for our next visit.

Fabulous view on high floors, clean rooms, nice baths and comfortable beds. The despicable thing was that my daughter-in-law made me a birthday cake and I made the mistake of placing it in the refrigerated mini bar. I was charged because I placed my piece of cake in there. I never heard of such a thing! They warn you about placing stuff in there and they mean it! Be prepared for the typical high parking fees everywhere you go. Typical of any big city.

My 25 year old daughter and I were in town for a few days. Never having been to Chicago we weren't sure what to see. The hotel staff was very helpful and we felt safe walking outside any time of day. The close proximity to Magnificent Mile and Navy Pier was great.

Pros: Location
Cons: After-hours access to food/snacks

Fabulous view on high floors, clean rooms, nice baths and comfortable beds. The despicable thing was that my daughter-in-law made me a birthday cake and I made the mistake of placing it in the refrigerated mini bar. I was charged because I placed my piece of cake in there. I never heard of such a thing! They warn you about placing stuff in there and they mean it! Be prepared for the typical high parking fees everywhere you go. Typical of any big city. People always seem to be shocked by this, but it is quite common.

Cons: A pool would be nice

This hotel is great - rooms are clean, it has a huge, nice bar, great location, brunch is excellent. Only problems were that you have to ask for brunch vouchers (they were supposed to be included in the hotel package, but they don't automatically give them to you) and check in lines were long - the hotel was very busy.

I paid for an "upgraded" room ($30 per night) that turned out to be small and dark - even with all lights on. The air purifier did not work and the note I left was still there when I returned and it still did not work. The staff asked if everything was ok upon checkout but when I told them my thoughts they offered me a "how are we doing mail in card". I won't stay there again.

Two couples first time to Chicago. Had a blast doing all the tourist stuff. Loved the hotel...prices for room service seemed high.

Pros: location, brunch, bar
Cons: service

Loved it... my wife and I absolutely loved this hotel... great bar, friendly staff, excellent spa, spectacular restaurants... courteous service... very very overpriced though so be prepared for the sticker shock... room service charged 25%+ their already exorbitant price on meals and a service charge... if you don't mind that and know you're paying for a good time then enjoy. We did!

Pros: service and ammenities
Cons: room air conditioning rattled

I paid for an "upgraded" room ($30 per night) that turned out to be small and dark - even with all lights on. The air purifier did not work and the note I left was still there when I returned and it still did not work. The staff asked if everything was ok upon checkout but when I told them my thoughts they offered me a "how are we doing mail in card". I won't stay there again.

Two couples first time to Chicago. Had a blast doing all the tourist stuff. Loved the hotel...prices for room service seemed high.

Pros: Rooms, Staff
Cons: A pool would be nice
