I've stayed there twice in the last year, under less than ideal circumstances, and it was just what I needed. The valet parking attendants are very friendly, as are all the rest of the staff. The rooms are comfortable and quiet, the location is great. I've had several excellent meals at Girasole, the restaurant in the lobby, and the staff of the restaurant were above average.

It was a great location from which to see the entire city. Staff were friendly and very hard-working. We used the car garage and the staff were great. Rooms were nice and very quiet. Great views of the city from our room. Only complaint was the very generic decor. We got a good rate on the travel website, $* less than the hotel's rate. Hotel is also right on a cable car line and a few blocks from Union Square and from Chinatown.

We had a corner position that was quiet even in the morning when the cable cars began to run. Most impressive was the bed and mattress. I have never slept this well in a hotel in my life and I have to give the mattress all of the credit!

Right on the cable car line, two blocks from Union Square, the Crowne Plaza has what I always look for....peace, quiet and immaculate rooms. The bedding is first quality and bathrooms and carpets freshly swept. Mattresses could be better, despite the fact that they advertise new mattresses. Only one restaurant with limited menu. Try Sears Restaurant around the corner! We would stay again.
