upon check in we discovered there is a night club at the hotel, it was very loud!! the desk clerk was kind enough to make sure my room was far enough from it that I wouldnt be disturbed by the noise. I did wake up in the middle of the night and went out onto the balcony . The room was mediocre, and I could not get internet all weekend, which the advertise that there is internet in EVERY room, because of this, I could not get any of my work done all weekend.

The location in proximity to the historic district, and to shopping, etc. Upon check in, we were greeted with a broken door lock. One call to the front desk, and the maintenece man was at my door with new lock. As we went up to the historic district, and came back, we were met with a blocked off parking lot, which took some maneuvering to get into. The location is hardly midtown! Upon arrival, our room was still occupied by kids from a tour group. In our next room, the a/c didn't work. In the middle of the night, the front desk called to say a complaint had been made of noise, even though we were fast asleep. It was a prank. Then, the tour group kids made crank calls to our room and the front desk was unable to help. When we got back from sightseeing at 2:30 the next day, the room had been cleaned but there were no towels or toiletries. I had to track down a maid and carry them to my room myself.

I traveled alone to Savannah this past weekend and this was a great hotel. Good deal, great lighting outside (key when alone), and such friendly staff. It was on Abercorn, the same road that runs straight (and I mean literally) into the historic district in about ten minutes. It's about five minutes from a local mall so if the tourist is too much, it's great to meet locals. Perfect for a weekend getaway and I will definitely rebook.

Pros: service
Cons: vending machines

The location in proximity to the historic district, and to shopping, etc. Upon check in, we were greeted with a broken door lock. One call to the front desk, and the maintenece man was at my door with new lock. As we went up to the historic district, and came back, we were met with a blocked off parking lot, which took some maneuvering to get into. Upon reentering our room and noticing that it really wasn't very nice (i.e. the bathroom door had been carved out in order to bypass the toilet), we decided to move to another hotel.

Pros: The price
Cons: Upgrades to building & rooms

The trip was very nice overall, however housekeeping tried to enter my room 2x while it was occupied! I had plenty of time before check out. They should be given a list of occupied rooms before they begin their shift so this doesn't happen again!

Pros: convienience to downtown
Cons: the hired help

The location is hardly midtown! Upon arrival, our room was still occupied by kids from a tour group. In our next room, the a/c didn't work. In the middle of the night, the front desk called to say a complaint had been made of noise, even though we were fast asleep. It was a prank. Then, the tour group kids made crank calls to our room and the front desk was unable to help. When we got back from sightseeing at 2:30 the next day, the room had been cleaned but there were no towels or toiletries. I had to track down a maid and carry them to my room myself.

A loud, unruly high school group checked in during our stay. They ran up and down the halls, shouted, laughed, and beat on doors as they ran. We called to complain to the management at 11:30. We called again at 1:00 when the kids continued to this behavior. Terrorized into unresponsiveness? General incompetence? The reason does not matter since the end result is the same ? loss of repeat business.
