This hotel, like all others near the plaza, is ridiculously overpriced for what is offered. The rooms stank of sewer gas and it took two days of complaining before it was fixed. But the breakfast buffet and afternoon sherry are good and included. Though overpriced for what you get, this hotel is not so overpriced as others near the plaza.

Pros: free breakfast & sherry
Cons: Everything Else

The central location of the hotel is the best, but more importantly, the layout gives the impression of seclusion...an oasis in the midst of a city! The restaurants, and the pool, and the food, all were fantastic! Santa Fe's most popular sites are only blocks away! Parking is available for free within the hotels fenced courtyard. There's a trolly tour of the city just blocks away that everyone should take. I wish some one had told me not to shop in New Mexico UNTIL I got to Santa Fe. Save your money for this city!

Pros: Location
Cons: possibly breakfast service

We discovered Inn of the Governors by accident. What a happy accident that turned out to be! From the wonderful breakfast buffet to the lovely decor and excellent service, we recommend IOG to anyone headed to Santa Fe. Just two blocks off the historic plaza. with some sheltered parking. The hotel bar serves up a wonderful - if limited - menu for lunch and dinner and shakes up the best Margarita in town - all very affordable. If quaint, local flavor in the heart of downtown shopping and sightseeing is what you are after, you won't be disappointed in your stay.

Pros: location
Cons: Frindly Staff, Reasonable Price
