The rooms in this hotel are nice. The bed was wonderful and the view fantastic. However, they advertise a check-in time of 3:00 p.m. and didn't have the rooms ready until well after 4:00 p.m. I found this irritating and inconvenient. The restaurant was rather mediocre, as well.

Pros: Beds and view
Cons: Attention to check-in time

My room was clean and big. Only stayed there for one night but the hotel was better than I expected. The staff was good but could've been a little more attentive. i.e. I put my car in the garage (which I paid $* for one night extra). I called to have the car ready for me when I got downstairs and it was not. They didn't get my car for another 10 minutes. But that's not too bad. I would definately return to the hotel.

Requested adjacent rooms - did not get them. Given the impression that we were 'second class' guests because we had booked with Travel agent. Manager stated that we could not get a late checkout because we had been 'upgraded'. We had booked online their 10% 'summer discount' offer. Evening meal was good, service was fine, but at Sunday Brunch, requested a table in the shade, but were told that it was reserved, when in fact no one sat there the entire time that we had our meal. We had the impression that it was because we had our grandson. Air conditioner not working properly in either suite.

Thin walls in rooms. Woke up around 3 am and heard the TV next door word for word. I contacted the front desk, who called the room to get it turned off. The guests did not answer the phone. X (front desk clerk) said "Well they must be really drunk. I'm sorry." Got to sleep around 6 am or so. To make it worse, valet parking was mandatory. We called ahead to have our car ready at checkout. When we got downstairs, we had to wait for 15 minutes (they had not pulled the car out). Notified the front desk as we were left about what had happened. No attempt to rectify situation.

Stayed in Room 401, behind the elevators but no noise or interference. Couldn't get the TV in the room to work right. Bathroom very small, but still workable. Good value for the price we paid. Two blocks from the shops and restaurants of Connecticut Ave., walking distance to White House. Nice bar on premises, too. At least one of the two elevators was out throughout our 5-day visit. Overall, though, we'd stay there again as it's a good price for DC.

I rarely request a room change, first room was OK until people next door checked in. Not their fault, but sounded like they were in my room, the walls of my room did not extend to the true ceiling, but only to the false ceiling. Noise was awful. Requested a room change, which was allowed. New room was better, but could hear every door that closed down the hall ALL NIGHT and heard many TV stations thru the ventilation system. Bring ear plugs or a noise machine to this hotel.

Cons: Acoustics, noise thru ventilation system

Requested adjacent rooms - did not get them. Given the impression that we were 'second class' guests because we had booked with Travel agent. Manager stated that we could not get a late checkout because we had been 'upgraded'. We had booked online their 10% 'summer discount' offer. Evening meal was good, service was fine, but at Sunday Brunch, requested a table in the shade, but were told that it was reserved, when in fact no one sat there the entire time that we had our meal. We had the impression that it was because we had our grandson. Air conditioner not working properly in either suite.

Pros: spaciousness of suite

Pros: Close to White House
Cons: Acoustics, noise thru ventilation system

Good location. When we checked in the bathroom and kitchen were dirty but were taken care of immediately. After a small email to the general manager saying that small details had not been taken care of, he sent a bottle of wine, chocolates and credited our internet charges back. Nice place, would definitely stay again.

Pros: Location/Decor
Cons: Not much.
