The location was very good and we did not hear much traffic from our room. It is a certified Green Hotel which I like. Parking was a giant rip-off. Found S.F. denizens to be rude and indifferent.Saw twi girls trying to do the push and grab scheme where they still a purse or wallet when one pushes another into someone. The crowd looked at them in amazement. Then the girls threaten to beat me up. Will go back to NYC next time.

Staff is very helpful & friendly - especially X. Called the day before and requested a corner room on a high floor which was granted. Rooms are not large but clean - and beds are comfortable. Quiet - only noise we heard was neighbors shower. Nicely appointed, near shopping and a few blocks to all types of public transportation. Avoid using Taylor towards Market Street at night - a little sketchy. We don't drink, but those at the wine tasting hour seemed to be having a good time. A good value if you are watching lodging costs. Overall - we were very happy honeymooners here.

There was hardly ever anybody in the restaurant that's attached to the hotel and it smelled like fish!

I've stayed at all the "Landmark Hotels" within the Union Square area in the past and this one beats them all! Service was good and the hotel lobby is beautiful. The rooms were decorated nicely but they are really small. The hotel has a pretty good location but it's right at the outskirt of where all of the action is located (i.e shopping, restaurants). There was hardly ever anybody in the restaurant that's attached to the hotel and it smelled like fish!

My wife and I absolutely loved this hotel. The staff at the hotel were extremely polite, professional and very helpful with tips and ideas. They also offer a wine/beer tasting and were very generous with the portions. This Hotel is located within walking distance (3 blocks) of the trolley/busses/muni and Union district. I went blindly and wasn't pleasantly surprised by the location and the price. There is also a parking garage right across the street that can save you a couple dollars. Overall, we give this hotel 5 stars.

These folks truley read the customer satisfaction book. For an older hotel, the Serrano is exceptionally well maintained. A quaint, very clean facility with wonderful staff. I've stayed at all the "Landmark Hotels" within the Union Square area in the past and this one beats them all! Price, staff, cleanliness, rooms, atmosphere, and location make the Serrano a hotel I will return to and recommend to all.

We really enjoyed our 4 night stay at the Hotel Serrano in San Francisco last week. The hotel was quiet, the staff was friendly and helpful. The view from our 12th floor room was fantastic and the hotel was convenient for bus riding.
