Reviewed by Lesley S. of Ithaca, NY USA on Mar-2008 Stayed at the Property - Feb-2008 Just returned from a 3 day trip to DC. My colleague suggested this hotel since they offer a government rate. Huge rooms and the nicest bed. The shuttle picked me up/dropped me off at the metro. They serve a hot buffet breakfast with many yummy options and to my surprise a dinner too. Even a glass of decent wine. I loved the Big Flat screened TV. I watched a BB game on HD. The people were friendly, Free WIFI . I will definitely suggest this hotel. I read many other bad reviews, when asked how it could be, the desk said that the hotel was sold and the new owners renovated the hotel. |

IT TOOK OVER 1 HOUR TO CHECK IN AT 6 PM THREE ROOMS THAT WERE OFFERED HAD NOT BEEN CLEANED. I COULD NOT GET REGULAR COFFEE IN THE ROOM FOR 4 DAYS. COFFEE IN THE BREAKFAST ROOM RAN OUT AT 6:45 AM.BATHTUB WAS NOT CLEANED FOR 4 DAYS. THE SHUTTLE DID NOT RUN ON A SCHEDULE. WIRELESS DID NOT WORK IN ROOM. STAFF WERE POLITE BUT TOTALLY INEPT WHEN PRESENTED WITH COMPLAINTS. I ASKED TO SEE A MGR AND GOT A DESK CLERK WHO HAD BEEN EMPLOYED 3 DAYS. STAY SOMEWHERE ELSE AND SAVE A LOT OF PROBLEMS.Could use improving - Just about everything |

Reviewed by Yolanda B. of Norfolk of VA USA on Dec-2006 Stayed at the Property - Dec-2006 After a travel nightmare, I arrived at the Hawthorn Suites where I was greeted by some of the most friendliest staff I have ever encountered. They were sympathetic that I'd just had a long, unpleasant filght and got me into my room quickly. When I got to my room I was surprised at how large the rooms were. The sofa bed was a little out dated, but the room was so clean that I overlooked it. The free breakfast is fantastic and they also serve a nice dinner. This was my first time staying in a Hawthorn, because I was able to get Hyatt points. I was trully impressed. |
